Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone has promised a more adventurous tactics from his side next week in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) last-eight second leg fixture against Manchester City.
Newsbreak.ng reports that looking ahead to next week’s clash at the Wanda Metropolitano, Simeone praise City, but promised more audacious tactics from his men.
“They might be the best side in the world,” he said.
“We’ll change how we play a little in the second half of this tie but it’s all the same to them – City will play the same way. But with humility, and hard work, we’ll compete. Then we’ll just see where that takes us.”
The Spanish side looked to frustrate their opponents in Tuesday’s match – before Kevin De Bruyne’s breakthrough.
Atleti were initially effective in neutralizing City, preventing them from getting many chances, but they also failed to register a single shot of their own in the first half for the first time since such data began to be collected in 2003-04, before going on to not have one effort in the entire match.
