Ben Chilwell and Hakim Ziyech, two out of Chelsea’s new players, will be unavailable for the team’s Premier League clash at Brighton next Monday.
The pair, costing a combined £87 million, are sidelined through injuries.
Ziyech twisted his knee during Chelsea’s friendly against Brighton 11 days ago, which forced him off in the 54th minute at the Amex Stadium while Chilwell is still struggling with a heel injury after signing from Leicester.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have been given a boost with Christian Pulisic in line to feature after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the FA Cup final defeat against Arsenal.
Chelsea’s season kicks off at Brighton with fans excited about their new additions. The Blues bought Ziyech (£37m), Chilwell (£50m), Timo Werner (£53m), Kai Havertz (£89m) while also completing free transfers for Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr in a bid to close the gap between themselves and Liverpool and Manchester City.

The Blues were banned from signing any player last season and had to make do with a mix of young and experienced players. They still were able to qualify for the Champions League, finishing fourth on the league table.
