The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has finally confirmed that Chidinma Ojukwu who confessed to killing Michael Usifo Utaga, Super TV CEO, is a student of the institution.

Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the vice-chancellor of the institution, said this on Wednesday at a briefing ahead of the university’s 51st convocation.
Ogundipe said UNILAG cannot deny the fact that the 21-year-old from Abia state is one of its students based on records available to the institution.

“From our records which are available to us, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu is a student of the University of Lagos who was born on December 12, 1999,” he said.
“From our records, she is from Abia State. From our records, her next of kin is Mr Onoh Ojukwu. She is a student of this great university whether she is a part-time or full-time student.
“We cannot deny the fact that she is a student of the university.”

The university’s reaction comes one week after Ojukwu was paraded by the Lagos State police command over Utaga’s murder.
The 300-level student of Mass Communication had earlier confessed to stabbing the Super TV CEO “twice on the neck side.”
She alleged that the businessman, with whom she had romantic relationship for months, forcefully had sex with her the first time, adding that a disagreement ensured after he attempted to do it again.

“At some point, he was chasing me around the kitchen cabinet. I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side,” she had said.
“I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor.”
