A former Newcastle winger, Christian Atsu, is yet to be seen despite reports to the contrary after he was caught a 7.7 magnitude earthquake which occurred in Turkey.
This is also as the Who Health Organisation (WHO) revealed that more than 20,000 people may have died from the earthquakes that rocked Turkey and Syria.
Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, said Hatayspor manager, Mustafa Özat, had confirmed that Atsu and the club’s sportinImog director Taner Savut were still under the rubble.
“Everyone is putting their heart and soul into efforts, although the winter season, cold weather and the earthquake happening during the night make things more difficult,” Erdogan told reporters on Monday.
“We do not know how high the casualty numbers will go as efforts to lift the debris continue in several buildings in the earthquake zone. Today is a day for 85 million to be together as one heart.”
