There was panic at a nursing school in Ihiala, Anambra State, after soldiers reportedly stormed the area to search for gunmen.
The development comes barely 24 hours after a gun battle between security operatives and gunmen at the campaign rally of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state on Tuesday.
At least six people were killed at the rally, with the convoy of the state governor, Willie Obiano, said to be caught in the shootout, which reportedly lasted for hours.
In a video shared online, pedestrians passing the school area were seen raising their hands.
Students of the school dressed in white, were also spotted running at some point, before a gunshot was fired.
