Two Nigerians singers, Naira Marley and Terry G, are currently trending on Twitter over who has more influence on Nigerian youths and who is more influential in the music scene.

The two artistes, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley and Gabriel Oche Amanyi known as Terry G, became trending topics after some internet users posed questions as to who is a better artiste between them.

While many submitted that Naira Marley has a large followers, some were of the view that he does not come close to being compared to Terry G when he was at his prime.

Also, some said the influence of Naira Marley’s music cannot be over emphasized, but credit should be given to the artistry of the Free Madness crooner.

According to a twitter user, “Terry G was here in the Era of little or no Social Media, he reigned in the late 2000’s. If there was Social Media to help his Hype back then, he would surpass Naira Marley easily. Naira Marley has to do this for 3/5years straight for any comparison.”

I'm a Marlian but comparing Naira Marley to Terry G is blasphemy. Terry G that his head is not correct. Somebody that did part 1-3 for a song that we all knew did not make one single sense but once he rang that his bell, we'd be scratching our chests like possessed monkeys

Terry G might be a better artiste and entertainer than Naira Marley and he was only loved for that but he doesn't have as much influence as Naira Marley has on his fans. Naira Marley has been able to mess with his fans psychologically which is why he'll be on the scene for long.

Naira Marley that performed before Burna Boy at Bafest, Immediately after his performance about 40% of the crowd started leaving. We just wanted to see him perform. His madness is on another level.

The rest should fuck off ahbeg. https://t.co/lbcdlWVsnd

“Free Madness” > Naira Marley’s whole career. https://t.co/GkpD961Rm4

From 'Opotoyi' a track you released specifically for your fans (Marlians), it taught them how to use soap and masturbate, to smoking Indian hemp, to not using belt to (now) not wearing underwear (pants).
Ha! Naira Marley! please, save our future generation by holding workshops pic.twitter.com/M8vcFwlBD0
