The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced that games of all its competitions, including the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, has been postponed due to the spread of Coronavirus.

In the Champions League, Manchester City versus Real Madrid, Juventus versus Lyon, Barcelona versus Napoli and Bayern Munich versus Chelsea all due to be played next week Tuesday and Wednesday have been postponed.
Also, Manchester United, Wolves and Rangers’ matches in the Europa League are off, alongside all Uefa Youth League quarter-final matches scheduled for 17 and 18 March.
The draws for the next rounds, set for 20 March, have also been postponed.

UEFA in a statement on Friday said further decisions on the scheduling of the postponed fixtures “will be communicated in due course”.
Similarly, all Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship have been suspended till at least 3 April.
The Premier League said action would resume on 4 April “subject to medical advice and conditions at the time”.

The EFL said clubs were also advised to suspend “non-essential activities” such as “player appearances, training ground visits and fan meetings”.
It added that it hopes to resume play on 2 April.
In the same vein, the Football Association said England’s games against Italy on 27 March and Denmark four days later are also postponed.

Sporting activities have been affected by COVID 19, now declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), after several athletes have contracted the virus.
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta; Chelsea winger, Calum Hudson-Odoi; and Juventus defender, Daniele Rugani, were said to have tested positive for the virus.
The entire Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid squad have been quarantined, while three players of Leicester City and the entire Everton team are ion self-isolation.
