A couple have named their twin babies, ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’ after having them during the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple, resident in Chhattisgarh, India, say the names would remind them about all the hardships they conquered amid the lockdown.
They babies, a boy and a girl, were delivered on the night of March 26-27 at a government hospital after a successful caesarean session.

However, the couple said they may change their decision later and rename their kids.
“Indeed the virus is dangerous and life-threatening but its outbreak made people focus on sanitation, hygiene and inculcate other good habits. Thus, we thought about these names,” the mother, 27, said, giving reasons for their unusual decision.

The twins were born in Dr. BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital.
