A couple have mistakenly threw away £15, 000 ((N7,120,297) cash at a recycle plant in the United Kingdom.
However, the money was found and returned to them.
Daily Mail reports that the couple, who are from Bunham-On-Sea, took many boxes from a deceased relative’s house to a recycling port in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, without knowing that a large amount of money was in one of them.
A vigilant staff who saw the money when he was looking for an electric cable, contacted the Avon and Somerset police, who were able to find the owners through footage from CCTV from the recycling plant.
The car that dropped them was identified and the security officers were able to locate their home address.
According to the couple, their relative was known to hide money in strange places in the house.
The police thanked the staff who reported the case.
“We would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the recycling centre. Without their diligent attitude, integrity and assistance, the family would never have known about the money found, and we would not have been able to return it to them, especially in time for Christmas,” the police said.
