A Federal High Court in Lagos has discharged and acquitted a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, of corruption charges. The Judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, described the prosecution’s case as “feeble” and failing to provide “copious evidence” that linked Fani-Kayode to charge. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in 2008, accused Fani-Kayode of laundering about N100 million as minister of culture and tourism and, later, as aviation minister.
