An Akure Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ondo State has ordered the remand of Seidu Adeyemi, the suspected killer of Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of ex-Ondo State Deputy Governor Lasisi Oluboyo, in Olokuta prison.
The deceased, said to be a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, AAUA, Akugba-Akoko, was allegedly hypnotized before she was killed by Adeyemi.
Presiding magistrate, Bob Manuel Victoria gave the order after he was arraigned by the police on two-count charge of conspiracy and murder. She said that the suspect will remain in prison custody pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
She directed the police to hand over original copies of his case file to the Ministry of Justice.
Earlier, Police prosecutor, Adebayo Mary, told the court that since it was a murder case, the court had no jurisdiction over it, as he urged the court to remand the suspect in prison custody.
Counsel to the suspect, Taiwo Gbadebo, did not object to the application.
The case was adjourned till August 23.
