The United States of America has fulfilled its promise of donating ventilators in supporting Nigeria’s effort in combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Over 200 ventilators were presented by Mary Bert Leonard, the U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, to the Nigerian contingent led by Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health, at the Abuja Premier Medical Warehouse in the nation’s capital on Tuesday.
The presentation comes four months after US President, Donald Trump, promised to support the country with ventilators.
President Trump’s promise was sequel to a telephone conversation he had with President Muhammadu Buhari on 28 April, according to Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture.
Mohammed had said the meeting was at the request of the American President.
