The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 230 bags of Indian hemp, leading to the arrest of one Saifullahi Lawal.

The acting Controller of the NCS in Katsina, Mr Dalha Wada-Chedi, disclosed this on Wednesday while handing over the suspect and the exhibit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Chedi who was represented by the Deputy Controller (DC), Administration of the command, Baffa Dambam, revealed that the suspect was arrested with the exhibit around Shargalle town on the Daura-Katsina Road in Mashi Local Government Area.

Reacting to questions asked by journalists, Lawal claimed that it was his third time conveying such items from Lagos to Katsina without knowing it was Indian hemp.
