An Engineer with interests in agriculture, books, politics and football, Jalo Abba II, has started a cyber war on Twitter between the Fulanis and Hausas.
Jalo Abba, a Fulani, dragged his northern brothers, the Hausas, over the Almajiri system.
In a series of tweets, he questioned the life of a ‘typical Hausa man’ and why he allows his children to eat from refuse dumps.
He said, “The life of a typical Hausa man would always be fascinating to me. He has visited Saudi Arabia & performed Hajj 10 times or more. But never asked himself why the Arabs don’t send 5-year-olds to distant places to eat from refuse dumps in the name of Islamic scholarship.
“You’d expect him to have a change in thought since he’s interacted with other Nationals but he comes back to Kano to advocate for the poor amongst his people marry more wives & give birth to many children they can’t cater for but is never willing to spare N10k to help buy drugs.
“He believes poverty is a virtue and Rahama Sadau wearing a backless dress is a source of more concern than the 9.5 million Hausa kids roaming every petrol station & junction carrying green bowls eating from refuse dumps.
“The radio, television & the internet are there to educate him on how Islamic societies have attained progressed but he thinks he knows Islam more than the Arabs. Yet, he wonders why Kano is not like Paris, Kaduna like London & Jigawa like New York. A very fascinating specie.”
This didn’t go down well with the Hausas on Twitter.
