Passengers waiting to board Dana Air planes in the Lagos and Abuja airports have been left stranded for hours, a report reaching Newsbreak.ng says.
The flight scheduled to leave Abuja for Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, has been rescheduled twice. It was originally scheduled to take off at 2:30pm but as at 6:30pm, passengers were still waiting around in the lounges.
According to the announcer at the Abuja airport, the delays are due to ‘operational reasons’. Angry passengers have reportedly attacked the airline’s counter.
A passenger who spoke to Newsbreak.ng from the Lagos airport corroborated the earlier report saying Dana flights are yet to arrive.
However, an unconfirmed source has said the authorities are checking the aircraft for airworthiness.
Newsbreak.ng recalls that Dana Air has been forced to refute allegations in the last few days that their airplanes are not exactly airworthy following what some call a campaign of calumny against the airline on social media.
A Dana Air plane had, in February, skidded off a runway at the Port Harcourt airport shortly after landing. The airline claimed the incident was due to bad weather.
