The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) Tuesday declared a Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore wanted for an alleged N700 million pay out by Office of the National Security Adviser(ONSA) to a company suspected to be his. An EFCC statement says Omisore has been “elusive” since he was called for questioning on the said money collected between June and November 2014 by the anti-graft agency.
“Instead of responding to the Commission’s investigation Omisore had approached the Federal Capital Territory High Court for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.
“Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf consequently ordered that Omisore should only be arrested through a due and legal process.
“The EFCC thereafter obtained a warrant to effect the arrest of the politician,” the statement said. The money received by the politician was said to include N442, 600,000 security contract awarded to a firm linked to him by the ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki. Another N370million was said to have been paid to Omisore’s account.
