The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was reported to have said the refusal by the All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Lawal Jafaru Isa to honour it earlier invitation for his appearance necessitated his arrest on Wednesday. Isa, a retired army general and one-time military administrator for Kaduna state, was believed to have received millions of naira from the embattled national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki under suspicious circumstances. Jafaru was picked up at his Ajayi Crowther Street home in Asokoro District, Abuja. EFCC sources said he had made statements to interrogators concerning his involvements in the arms scam.
