The Ondo State government has ordered that its state workers must be vaccinated against COVID-19 before November 1, 2021, to avoid being shut out of office.
Donald Ojogo, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, disclosed this on Monday.
Ojogo, who spoke through the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Adeyemi Adeyemo, stressed on the need for workers to be vaccinated to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The development means that Ondo State becomes the second state to mandate COVID-19 vaccination for all its workers after Edo State gave a similar mandate.
This is coming after Newsbreak reported on Monday how the President of the National Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, urged the government to persuade workers to get the vaccine rather than compelling them.
