Police have said they were tipped-off by watchful residents of Ajangbadi area of Lagos about two dead infants dumped in a canal. They are asking people to volunteer information that could help resolve the issue.
According to reports, the dead infants were found in drainage located beside a filling station last Friday.
The bodies were evacuated by the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit.
Dolapo Badmos, spokeswoman for Lagos Police Command, said the incident was being investigated. “We got the information around 1pm on Friday and our operatives attached to the Ilemba Hausa division went there and saw the corpses of the infants in the canal. “The corpses were removed and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital morgue for autopsy. But effort is on to track down the perpetrator(s) of the act,” she said.
