Body parts of a new born baby cut into pieces have been discovered in Wudil town, Kano State.
Daily Trust reports that residents of Sakau area of Sabon Gari in Wudil said they woke up on Sunday morning to the gory sight of the dismembered body parts of the baby, with its legs and head found in different pieces inside grasses.
Muhammadu Sule, the ward head of Sakau area, who confirmed the incident, said they have informed the police for proper investigation.
“It was somebody called Manager who informed me that a new born baby’s legs have been found inside firewood in the area in the early hours of Sunday. I got to the place and saw it too but I found a policeman already arrived. I quickly reported to my village head, who ordered me to also inform the police and the Hisbah,” he said.
“We searched but couldn’t find the remaining parts of the baby. It was after we buried the legs, approximately two hours later that I was informed that the baby’s head has also been found inside grasses. We reported again to the authorities, and we had to dig out the legs we buried.”
Muhammad also stated that the new born baby’s head and legs were taken to Wudil hospital for autopsy.
