Nasir Adam, a medical doctor in Jigawa State, has died of complications from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was confirmed by Nura Basirka, Chairman of the Jigawa branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), on Sunday.
Adam died at the age of 36 after battling with an acute respiratory disease, later discovered to have resulted from COVID-19.

“Until his death, Mr Adam was the Medical Officer in the Department of Internal Medicine, Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State,” Basirka said.
The late Adam was born in Jos, the Plateau State capital, in 1984.

He attended primary and secondary school in Jos. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria in 2012.
