It was double whammy for Maria Blacklin, the mother of the three-week-old baby, killed by a dog in their home in Falkland Road, London. Blacklin had been bereaved with the loss of a family member, whose funeral she attended on the fateful day her baby was attacked by the dog at home. Blacklin and her husband, Ryan Young, have been devastated and said they are “trying to cope” with the tragedy. Their family dog, called Tricky, is being kept in kennels and is expected to be destroyed. A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Superintendent Gillian Mitchell said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
