Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was disclosed by Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC caretaker committee and Governor of Yobe State, after he and Dogara met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.
“He is now a member of the APC,” Buni told State House correspondents after the meeting.
Dogara did not speak not to journalists, saying he will address the press at a later date.
Dogara had defected to the PDP as speaker shortly before the 2019 general elections.
He was elected as speaker in June 2015 on the platform of the APC.
