Music label boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, is a year older today November 26 (Friday) and to crown it, the music producer and his father share the same birth date.
Celebrating the men in her life, Don Jazzy’s mother, took to her social media page to say a word of prayer for them.
In the message sent via her Instagram page, she wrote: “Happy birthday to these legends @mavingrandpa and @donjazzy. This period every year gives me joy that can’t be expressed by just talking. My prayer always is for God to give you two long life with good health in Jesus name amen. I love you.”
Don Jazzy’s family moved to Ajegunle, Lagos where Don Jazzy was raised. He found an interest in music early in life and at age 12, he began to play the bass guitar and piano. He also gained knowledge of traditional and percussion instruments.
He enrolled in business management studied at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo state.
In 2000, his uncle invited him to play the drums for a local church in London and that was his first visit to London. Don Jazzy gained employment at McDonald’s as a security guard. He continued his interest in music, associating with artistes like; Solek, JJC Skillz, Kas, Jesse Jagz, The 419 Squad and D’Banj.
Don Jazzy is currently the founder and the CEO of Mavin Records. He was co-owner of defunct Mo’ Hits Records record label with Dbanj.
His younger brother is the music artiste, D’Prince.
