DSS Arrests Three Suspected KidnappersThe Department of State Services, DSS has arrested three suspected kidnappers, alleged to be associates of a notorious Benue kidnap kingpin, Terwase Akwasa popularly known as Ghana.
The suspects, Dondo Orsaa, Terhile Mbaloha and Teryima Ihiambe were picked up on June 9 at various locations in Katsina-Ala local government area of Benue state.
Tony Opuiyo, spokesman of the Service said one AK-47 rifle, a 9 mm pistol, ammunition and complete set of army uniform were recovered from one of the suspects, Orsaa.
Opuiyo noted that on April 10, one Terna Sapko, an informant of the Akwasa syndicate was arrested around the Army Barracks in Takum in Taraba.
On April 20, the Police Force had declared Ghana wanted for killing many innocent persons and destroying property worth millions of Naira in different locations in Benue.
Police investigations revealed that Ghana was responsible for the death of late Denen Igbana, Special Adviser on Security to the Benue state governor Samuel Ortom.
The Benue state government had offered N10 million to anyone with information that could lead to his arrest.
