The Department of State Services (DSS), has invited the leadership of Cattle and Foodstuff dealers, under the aegis of Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN), over the decision not to transport goods to the southern part of the country.
Ahmed Alaramma, General Secretary of AUFCDN, who disclosed this at a press briefing at the Labour House in Abuja on Monday, said the president of the association, Mohammed Tahir, is with the DSS.
Alaramma also alleged that the military personnel have been intimidating members and task force of the union.
He urged the government to avert looming chaos, by stopping the intimidation of their members.
The union has vowed to continue its strike and sustain the enforcement on the blockade of foodstuff and cattle from entering the southern part of the country.
AUFCDN said the action will be sustained till the Federal Government attend to its demands, which border on payment of N475 billion compensation for lives of members and property lost during the #EndSARS protests and Sasa market crisis in Ibadan, Oyo State.
