The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Obadiah Mailafia, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to come to its Jos office on Wednesday.
Confirming the development in an interview on Tuesday, Mailafia said the development was not unconnected to an allegation he made concerning an unnamed northern governor’s support for the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
“Yes, it true. The DSS invited me to appear in their Jos office tomorrow (Wednesday) by noon,” the former CBN deputy governor told the Punch.
Speaking in an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, on 8 August, Mailafia claimed that repentant bandits had confessed to him that “one of the Northern governors is the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria”.
Mailafia, who was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2019 election, also alleged that Boko Haram and the bandits are one and the same in Nigeria, adding that the terrorists moved weapons even during the COVID-19 lockdown.
