Hamdan bin Mohammed, Dubai Crown Prince, has paid the $120,000 (N46.8 million) bill of a Nigerian couple stranded with their new born quadruplets in the United Arab Emirates.

CNN reports that he asked his office to assist the couple after learning of their situation from the news.
Tijani and Suliyah Abdulkareem has welcomed their babies, two boys and two girls, at Lafiya Hospital for Women and Children on July 1 after bring stranded in Dubai due to the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The babies had been born prematurely and placed in incubators, increasing their medical bill.

Abdulhakeem thanked the prince for his generosity, adding that two of the children will be named after him, while one of the girls will be named after the hospital.
“It’s just a huge favour, and we are still in shock because we didn’t even know how to get the money. I had been sleepless wondering how to pay the bill,” Abdulkareem said.

He thanked the Nigerian community in Dubai, saying they had paid two months rent for a bigger place to accommodate the babies.

The 32-year-old Abdulkareem worked as a cook in a restaurant while his wife was a hospital cleaner but stopped working before birthing her babies.
