An Ebonyi state traditioner ruler, Moses Ngele, has called for peace between herdsmen and farmers in the country.

The ruler of Ishiagu Community, Ivo Local Government Area of the state said the continuous clashes between the two group poses a threat to the Country’s security.

“The incessant clashes between these two groups threaten the national security of our country and government must use all energy and resources to address them.

“Peace and security are needed to enhance economic growth, development and foster direct foreign as well as local investment”, he said.

The monarch while stating that the herdsmen destroy crops and plants in various communities of the state, said that famine is imminent if actions are not taken to stop the herdsmen.

He therefore, urged the federal government to address urgently the incessant brawl between herdsmen and farmers in the country.
