Nigeria’s Edem Offiong, has declared that she is in good shape ready for her fourth outing at the Summer Olympics, which holds later this month in Tokyo, Japan.
The 35-year-old Cross State-born table tennis player who has represented Nigeria thrice at the Olympics, picked her fourth ticket at the African Games in Morocco with style. She competed for Nigeria at the 2004 and 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics.
Edem Offiong, started playing in 1995 in Cross River State, has shown her class in Nigeria and on the continent.
Offiong said: “I’m preparing very well; I think I’m in a good shape. I was at the training centre in Spain for over two months and back in Nigeria to continue my training and also to join Team Nigeria at Kisarazu camp in Tokyo to concentrate on my training”.
“I pray to be at my best, to surpass my previous outings and if possible, come home with a medal. I have been working towards that every day.”
