The Edo State Government has disclosed that some doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been delivered to it by the Federal Government.

Osarodion Ogie, Secreatry to the State Government, revealed this in a statement.
He said that the state is preparing a localised distribution mechanism for the rollout of the vaccines in line with the national plan.
“The Edo State Government is in the custody of doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines received from the Federal Government for distribution in the state,” the statement read in part.

“We are preparing a local distribution network for rolling out the vaccines in line with the national plan.”

Nigeria had on Tuesday received nearly four million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, shipped via the COVAX Facility, a partnership between CEPI, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO.
