The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has reportedly arrested a former minister of state for power, Mohammed Wakil, at his residence in Abuja.
According to WITHIN NIGERIA, the anti-graft agency arrested the former minister over the weekend.
Wakil, who served under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, will be arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Monday, over some payments involving the Power Holding Company Limited (PHCN).
The EFCC had arraigned Wakil and four others at the federal high court in Maiduguri, Borno State, in June 2019, for allegedly collecting $115 million from the former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, before the 2015 presidential election.
Wakil was the majority leader of the House of Representatives during the fourth republic.
He was also the vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in North-east.
