An online news medium, Peoples Gazette, had published a copy of the letter from the EFCC. It was signed by Abdulrasheed Bawa, EFCC Chairman, who was then head of the commission’s Lagos zonal office.
The Punch quotes a source in the commission as saying the probe is sequel to petitions written against Tinubu since 2018.
Dapo Apara, former Managing Director of Alpha Beta Consulting, had written a petition to the commission alleging that the company, which he claimed is being run by Tinubu, evades tax.
He also said mysterious transfers were made to different companies without his knowledge.
