An EgyptAir plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Wednesday following a false bomb threat. The plane was en route from Cairo to Beijing before receiving the news.
Uzbekistan Airways reported that all 118 passengers and 17 crew members on board the Airbus A-330-220 plane were safely evacuated.
Two Egyptian air officials said the plane was forced to land when they received a call saying there was a bomb on board. They said the plane was searched but no explosives were found.
“The plane is preparing to resume its journey. It was a hoax, thank God,” said one of the officials.
EgyptAir has received a number of bomb threats since then, all of which have turned out to be false.
