Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna State governor, has reportedly sacked and redeployed his chief of staff, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi.
According to Daily Times Nigeria, El-Rufai took the decision two weeks after Abdullahi referred to Lamido Sanusi Lamido, as “former emir of Kano”.
The former chief of staff, had, while speaking in September at the Kaduna Investment Summit, introduced Sanusi as a former emir.
In the video of the incident posted on Facebook by Daily Trust, Sanusi took exception to Abdullahi referring to him as a former emir.
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), at the podium during the event, also described the governor’s aide as “former chief of staff”, telling the guests that they would understand why later.
Sanusi was dethroned in 2019 by Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, following corruption allegation against him.
He was replaced by Ado Bayero.
