David Lyon, the Governor-elect of Bayelsa State, has thanked voters in the state for electing him and promised to improve the fortunes of the state.
Lyon made the pledge in a series of posts on Twitter on Monday after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of Saturday’s Bayelsa State governorship election.

According to Professor Faraday Orumwense, the election’s Returning Officer, Lyon, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total number of 352,552 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 143,172 votes.

The governor-elect promised to make Bayelsa State great again.
“Congratulations to Bayelsans.

“Thank you Bayelsans for your unflinching Support,” Lyon tweeted.
