Protesters calling for an end to police brutality, especially in the hands of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), held a candlelight vigil in honour of all those who have been killed by operatives of the police unit.

Following protests that have lasted for more than a week, the protesters gathered around Lagos metropolis, Abuja and Port Harcourt, to mourn the death of friends, loved ones, and family members, whose lives were cut short by SARS officials.
At the different locations where the candlelight event took place, prayers were said after which the demonstrators sang the National Anthem.

The demonstrators have vowed not to leave the streets, until the police is reformed.
