President Muhammadu Buhari has said that last year’s #EndSARS protests against police brutality by youths, were aimed at removing him from office.
Buhari made the claim on Thursday, while appearing on Arise TV’s breakfast programme, The Morning Show.
The President also blamed the protests for the dwindling inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country.
While speaking, Buhari insisted that the protests have made Nigeria unattractive to investors.
When asked on how he can improve the FDI in the country, he said:
“This question was answered last year when there was the #EndSARS protest last year. You remember the young people that wanted to march here and remove me?”
He added: “Tell the young people to behave themselves and make the country safe, then we can attract real investors to the country”.
