Nigerian Professional Football League champions, Enyimba international, have been ranked 25th among 50 best teams in the continent, in a data updated on September 1, 2019.

According to footballdatabase.com, the Aba-based team remain the highest ranked Nigerian club with 1447 points, following their 7th league triumph in the 2018/2018 season. It was an improvement on their previous rating of 64.

Last season’s league runners-up, Kano Pillars, are rated 33rd in Africa and second in Nigeria, gathering 1419 points. It was also an improvement on their last ranking of 274.

Rangers International of Enugu, Akwa United and Lobi Stars follow respectively in that order of Nigeria ranking. 

The 2017/2018 NPFL season winners, Lobi Stars, were rated 50th in the list released.

Tunisian side, Esperance Sportive De Tunis, was rated as the number one team in the continent with 1621.

CAF Champions League record winners, Al Ahly SC of Egypt are second on 1617 points. Congo DR club, TP Mazembe, are third on 1578 points, while Sudan’s Al-Merreikh are fourth with 1555 points.
