European cup holders, Portugal, were on Saturday, drawn against world champions, France, and Germany in the group stage of the 2020 tournament.
The Cristiano Ronaldo-led side will battle the former World Cup winners in Group F, which has been tagged as the group of death, for a place in the next phase of the competition they won in France three years ago.
England got easy opponents in Group D, with the only tough foe being Croatia, who eliminated them from the 2018 FIFA mundial in Russia.
High flyers, Belgium and the Netherlands also got easy opponents in Groups B and C respectively.
However, Group A could present something of interest, as it has Turkey, Italy, Wales and Switzerland.
There are still four spots in the 24-team tournament, yet to be decided in play-offs.
The competition will take place between June 12 and July 12 in 12 countries.
According to UEFA, it is to celebrate the 60th birthday of the European Championship competition.
