Former Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann was in court to appeal a €240,000 fine for attempted assault in November, 2014. The German goalkeeper, now television pundit, was accused of grabbing another driver by the scarf in an incident on the A952 motorway in Starnberg, some miles from Munich. The 46-year-old has refused to pay the fine and has headed to the court to appeal the fine.

The fine is calculated based on 60 days of salary for the ex-Germany shotstopper, who won 61 caps between 1998 and 2008.

The former Borussia Dortmund stopper succeeded David Seaman as Arsenal goalkeeper and played in every league game of the 2003-04 ‘Invincibles’ season when the Gunners were unbeaten in the Premier League. He made 148 league appearances for Arsenal between 2003 and 2008, but was infamously sent off early in the 2006 Champions League final which Barcelona eventually won 2-1 at the Stade de France in Paris.
