Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni is on trial at English National League side, Boreham Wood FC. The former Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth forward will play for the side in a pre-season match against former club Reading on Saturday. The bulky forward’s arrival was announced via the club’s Twitter handle.
“We can announce that Former @Everton @officialpompey @ReadingFC striker YAKUBU will feature for the Wood against the royals tomorrow (today).”
He was last on the books of Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor. He also had stints in China with Guangzhou RF and Qatari side Al Rayyan. The striker scored 21 goals in 57 appearances for Nigeria.
