Monica Osagie, a former student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, who exposed a lecturer for demanding sex from her for marks, has revealed that she was rejected at a job interview because of the incident.

Osagie, a postgraduate student at the institution in 2018, leaked an audio conversation between her and the lecturer, Professor Richard Akindele, in which he demanded for sex from her in a sex-for-marks scandal.
Akindele was subsequently sacked and jailed.

AWP Network, a pro-African women organisation, shared Osagie’s experience on Twitter on Friday.
According to the tweet, she was told by the company at the interview, that they do not need a whistle-blower as an employee.
