
The Police in Osun state have arrested a graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Babaseun Daramola, and an unnamed lady, said to be his girlfriend, over the murder of a lecturer, Dr. Deji Adejobi. Daramola, who graduated from the department of building, Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, O.A.U, became the prime suspect due to an altercation he had with Adejobi last Friday over a lady.
Nigeria Newsbreak source said Daramola was in the university’s staff club last Friday, where he warned Adejobi to stay away from his girlfriend. Our investigation further revealed Daramola’s father as a retired staffer in the university’s Arts faculty and his mother, a commandant of the National Civil Defence Corps, NCDC.

Adejobi was murdered by some unknown men last Tuesday at his residence at Modomo Street, off The Don bus stop, located few meters from the old Ile-Ife tollgate. Until his death, Adejobi lectured in the department of Agriculture Economics in the university. The suspected assailants trailed Adejobi’s to his house, where they shot him dead at about past 10 p.m. His wife and two daughters were in the house at the time of his murder. He was recently elevated on the board of FADAMA. Adejobi was a prince from Orile-Owu in Osun state. His father, then a reigning king, and his mother died in an accident along Orile-Owu, in Osun state, a couple of years ago.
