A man, who falsely claimed to be a ‘Squadron Leader’, has faced charges for whipping a female Police Sergeant at Ogunlana bus-stop, in Akowonjo area of Lagos. Lucky Onofua was arraigned Monday before an Ejigbo Lagos Magistrate for assaulting and the officer and impersonating an Air Force man.
The accused pleaded not guilty, after which Presiding Magistrate Joe Adeyemi granted him a bail of N50,000 with one surety, who must worth the sum and able to prove three-year tax payment.
The case was adjourned till 11 July, 2016.
Meanwhile, the court also heard how a lady, Emmanuel Lovett, 20, and others at large stole jewellery worth N9m, belonging to one Florence Efundola at 3 Real One Street, Onifade Avenue, in Idimu area of the state. The incident was said to have occurred on the 14th day of June, 2016.
Lovett pleaded guilty to the offence, while Presiding Magistrate Adeyemi adjourned the case till 4th July, 2016.
