Court Sentences Killers Of Fasoranti’s Daughter To Death By Hanging

Afenifere, a pan socio-political organisation, has asked the Federal Government to ban Fulani herdsmen from bringing their cattle into Yorubaland. According to a communique issued by the group after a meeting at the residence of the leader, Reuben Fasonranti,  on Tuesday, the request was to stop the crimes the herdsmen allegedly perpetrate in the rural areas of the land.  They also decried the state of insecurity in the country, particularly, Olu Falae’s kidnap last week. They described the abduction as a disrespect to the Yoruba race.

To prevent a case of self defence, they urged the Federal Government to curtail the violence of the herdsmen. They also reminded the President to implement the recommendations of the report of the 2014 National Conference. The report, according to them, contains the abolition of nomadic system of cattle rearing, which it described as  primitive, and asked the government to rather adopt ranching cattle rearing system.
