Fathers of the late Sylvester Oromoni (Jnr), a Junior Secondary School two student at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, has revealed that the family will still go ahead to celebrate a posthumous birthday for his child today, December 4, 2021.
Recall that the late Oromoni who was allegedly assaulted and bullied by some senior students of the school for refusal to join a cult group, would have been 12 years old today.
His father disclosed on Thursday night via in an interview that he would still go ahead to cut a cake to celebrate his birthday.
He said, “My son suffered. His birthday is next tomorrow (Dec 4). I’ll celebrate it. I’ll have a cake baked. I’ll cut it on his behalf. “
The cousin of the deceased revealed via his Twitter account that five students bullied him, and forcefully gave him a chemical substance to drink.
However the school in a statement released on Friday denied any form of bullying or attack on the student.
The Lagos State government has officially shut down the school to commence proper investigation in regards to the death of the deceased.
