Joe Igbokwe, special adviser to the Lagos State governor on Drainage and Water Resources, has expressed outrage over the celebrity status accorded Femi Fani-Kayode, who officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday.
Fani-Kayode was received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after he was presented by the party’s caretaker chairman, Mai Mala Buni, in company of Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle.
The former aviation minister returned to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Igbokwe, in a Facebook post, conveyed displeasure over the manner Fani-Kayode was received into the party.
He lamented that despite his “push” for the party, he has never been invited to Abuja to see Buhari.
The governor aide described the ex-minister as a “political charlatan and prostitute” who was “given a red carpet in the seat of power, Abuja.”
He added in another post that his loyalty has been tested.
He wrote: “Despite all my push for APC, Abuja has not given me a phone talk less of inviting me for coffee with the C-in-C. But here is a political charlatan and prostitute being given a red carpet in the seat of power, Abuja.”
He added: “I pray thst your loyalty will not be tested as a time like this the way mine is being tested at the moment.”
