Joseph Babatunde Oluwayose, ex-official of the Ekiti state Government has accused a certain Ariyo Afolabi of threatening his life. Oluwayose, a retired colonel, served as special adviser on security to former Ekiti state governor Kayode Fayemi.
Oluwayose claimed Afolabi called him on April 11, 2016, around 18:47hours, on mobile phone number 08033829346, threatening him.
“He issued a threat to me to the effect that ‘I will ensure that I kill you and your wife if you continue to make negative comments on the government of Governor Fayose’, Olwayose said in a petition to the police. He claimed to have copied Director of the Department of Security Services (DSS), National Human Rights Commission and State Secretary of APC in the petition.
Oluwayose said he was reporting Afolabi officially because he was a notorious thug.
“In fact, he had earlier attempted to attack me with plank of wood during the last voter registration exercise in Afao-Ekiti,” Oluwayose was claimed to have said in the petition.
