Tennis superstar, Roger Federer, has left Nike for Japanese apparel brand, Uniqlo, in a deal reportedly valued at $300 million.

Federer’s contract with the American sports manufacturer expired in March and both parties were reported to be in negotiations for a new deal.

However, the Swiss tennis player left his longtime kit sponsors for the apparel brand, where he will get to earn a reported $30 million for 10 years.

The deal, it was learnt, will purportedly see Federer earn an annual salary that is almost four times his paycheck from his most recent contract with Nike.

Federer will collect the full value of the deal- even if he decides to retire – and will also be able to sell patches on his shirt to other sponsors.

However, the Uniqlo deal does not cover Federer’s footwears as the company is only a clothing brand.

He was spotted wearing a Nike shoe during his first-round game at Wimbledon on Monday.
